Grey Ironbark ( Eucalyptus paniculata)
Distribution This species grows mainly on the coast between Coffs Harbour and Bega and may extend 50-100 kn inland.
Flowering cycle Buds appear in autumn and are carried for 5-9 months, the time depending on the season and locality. Flowering may extend from late winter to January,
with heaviest blossoming between October and Decermber. Apicultural value Grey Ironbark is the most valuable iron bark to beekeepers on the coast, producing the best quality coastal eucalypt honey. The honey is light in colour with good density and excellent flavour.
